Week 7: Runnin through week 7 with my elders

For P-Day we are going to play 2 hand touch Rugby at 3 as a zone. I don't know how well that will work so I'm going to bring my LeBrons and be ready to have a block party in the gym. Last week at Volleyball a girl on the other team spiked the ball and hit me in my shoulder. She almost got a head-shot on me but I turned my body.

This morning we got invited by another companionship to go to the Mason household for brunch. The mom drove a 2014 Acura MDX and the daughter drove a mazda 3. I was able to connect with their family pretty well. We had pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, and OJ for breakfast. I brought my own jug of Nutella to smother my pancakes. At the end of the brunch the family invited me to go with them to a Lakers game when I'm done with my mission. They have season tickets and they sit right behind Swaggy P's son. The seats looked like they were no more than 10 rows back from the court. In two years time I'll be back here hopefully.

My companion was sick this past Friday along with 2 other elders so we put them all in an apartment together and 3 of us went out as a tri-pan. It was Elder Dort, Elder Robinson, and I that went out that day. We had a blast just teaching and talking with random people.

Service this past week I shoveled poop from 1 horse, 1 pony, and 3 alpacas. It had been building up for two and a half weeks so it took us a while to clean up. This was done at the Budrows household. Then we had to breakup the brick walkway around Bishop Weavers Pool. The pool is broken so they decided to just fill the pool instead of paying to fix it.

We had 5 cancellations this past week, so that was rough. But the Hill couple has been to church two weeks in a row. They hadn't been to church in years. The husband thinks we are really cool missionaries because we talk to him about sports and rap music.

I'm praying that I'll get my Visa hopefully in the next couple months. I want to enjoy my time here in California for a little bit longer. I need to eat at much beef as I can. Also a quick happy birthday to Uncle Don. Stay safe out there on your street bike.  Also safe travels to my big brutha in a weeks time. Don't go 0-100... real quick! Cali out!

Week 6: 1-2-3-4, tell me that you love me more

Today we are playing basketball for the first time in 2 weeks as a district. I almost was able to dunk a volleyball this past week. When it happens I'll be sure to put a video up on Dropbox. Last Wednesday we played volleyball and I used my Macho Volleyball skills from the Cult of Zulthar to surprise everyone. It was the most fun I've ever had on my mission. We played against some of the other elders and some members.

My companion and I had some good talks this week to help us build our confidence and to be more successful missionaries.

For service we helped Cowboy pick some pears and apples so they wouldn't break the branches. He owns a 1992 Mazda Miata that's in mint condition with only 42,000 miles. How is that even possible... It's also a 5-speed manual and red. The whole zone went on a "hike" but we litterally just walked up a hill blindfolded. I was so salty after that!

We started teaching the discussions to the Torres family. The husband is Hispanic and from Texas. I've never met a Hispanic with a southern accent. He's married and has 2 kids. This past week was great. I also went on exchanges with one of the zone leaders. His name is Elder Willis and he's from Mesa, Arizona.

The work here is growing more and more each week. I love it... and IN-N-Out Burger! I appreciate everyone who emails and sends pictures.

Week 5: Mother's Day message

Today i'm planning on purchasing a new watch and playing 18 holes at the Chalk Mountain golf course with two less active members.. I'm probably going to be a little rusty. I'm sure I can tie the game of golf into a gospel discussion.

My companion and I like to have our fun with talking with random people or members. We are always trying to have some fun.

For service we helped an investigator move out and she had a ton of random stuff. She had just started packing the day before. She's wasn't very prepared to move so us and another companionship had a lot of work to do.

We received news that a family that we taught two weeks ago is now open to hearing the discussions. This was amazing news because we hadn't heard anything from them since. We start this Wednesday so I'm excited for that this week.

I love receiving pictures from everyone so keep them coming. I miss good ole Snohomish. I love you all. "A Song for Momma" by SoMo has been playing through my mind this past couple days. I love you Momma. She has all my pictures. My camera wont let me upload anything so hopefully she'll post one of my pictures from when I visited the Winery.

Week 4: Catching a cowboy's underwear

So my first P-Day I showed everyone that Indians aren't only good at Cricket. I showed up to the Stake Center all decked up in my LeBron gear. I played some of my best basketball just to impress everyone.

My companion kinda scares me when we drive. I hate so much that the junior companion has to get out of the car to help "back up" the senior companion. I hate it so much. Also I've become slightly addicted to sunflower seeds and carry a big spit bottle in the car.

For service this past week we helped an old guy named "Cowboy" hang his laundry. He tossed his dirty underwear at me and by my natural reaction I caught his dirty underwear. Ewww I almost puked.

After getting done tracting with my companion and I noticed an old Buick turn around and follow us. I honestly thought that I was going to get shot. In my mind I was thinking that I'm not even a month out yet and I'm already going to get shot. It turns out the guy just wanted to talk to us about when we thought the second coming was going to happen. I let out a huge sigh of relief. We got his address and sent missionaries to his house the following day.

Family and Friends you are all in my prayers. I hope everyone is doing Gucci. I'll see y'all soon enough. Don't go chasing waterfalls.... No that's not a TLC reference.
